You know, there’s a lot of chatter these days about technology – what it is, what it isn't, and sometimes, even what it might be. But what if I told you that our conversation about Artificial Intelligence, and indeed all digital tools, is missing something profound? Something that connects directly to purpose, to community, and to justice itself?

My deepest conviction, born from decades as an entrepreneur and a profound personal journey, is this: Artificial Intelligence, when rooted in faith and purpose, is the most powerful tool we have to truly level the playing field and directly reduce the economic wealth gap. This isn't just about innovation; it's about justice. It's about recognizing digital equity as a foundational social justice issue of our time.

The Digital Divide: An Unseen Injustice for Every Generation

For too long, the digital revolution has left too many behind. We talk about access to broadband, and that's crucial – imagine living in a "dead zone" where you can't access healthcare, education, or even basic services online. But access is only half the battle. Even when the infrastructure is there, a critical divide persists: the technology skills gap. This gap isn't just an inconvenience; it's an economic barrier, a social injustice that perpetuates cycles of inequality across all demographics.

Consider this:

  • Our Seasoned Generations (Boomers & Seniors): As the digital landscape rapidly expands, our boomer populations are often left struggling to navigate even the simplest digital tools. Who is truly helping them learn how to confidently manage essential tasks like email, access online healthcare portals, or securely conduct banking? Their need for basic digital literacy is a foundational challenge.

  • The "Sandwich" Generation (Gen X): Many Gen Xers find themselves caught in the rapidly changing technological currents, confused by the sheer pace of innovation. They demonstrate a clear need for personalized guidance to maximize the digital tools revolution, ensuring they remain competitive and connected in both their personal and professional lives.

  • Our Rural Communities: Beyond the stark reality of broadband unavailability, even when access is gained, the tools themselves – smartphones and tablets – remain foreign to many. Residents of rural communities often lack the foundational digital skills needed to truly benefit from being online, perpetuating their isolation.

  • Our Future Generations (School-Age Kids): Our school-age children face a double-edged sword. If they are not exposed to proper, ethical digital skills training, they are already at a disadvantage. Furthermore, if the educators teaching them traditional, much-needed subjects are not incorporating digital skills, including the usage of AI, into the curriculum, it creates a significant lag, leaving these students behind before they even enter the workforce.

This collective lack of foundational digital skills and confidence directly limits job opportunities, hinders business growth, and prevents entire communities from participating fully and equitably in the modern economy.

AI: The Great Leveler, Fueled by Purpose

This is where Faith Fueled Tech enters the conversation. It's the intentional practice of blending biblical principles, core values, and God-given purpose with the strategic and ethical use of technology. For me, it's letting faith be the powerful engine that guides how and why we engage with AI and digital tools. When Algorithms and the Almighty truly converge, limitless possibilities emerge.

Here are my key pillars for why AI is not just a tool, but a key to reducing the economic wealth gap and fostering digital justice:

  1. AI for Business Growth & Efficiency: Profit with Purpose. AI isn't just for big corporations; it's a game-changer for every small business and entrepreneur, from the "mom and pop" shop to the million-dollar enterprise. It streamlines operations, automates routine tasks, and offers invaluable insights, dramatically improving efficiency and productivity. This empowers businesses, regardless of size, to compete, innovate, and scale in ways previously unimaginable, directly boosting revenue and market reach. It turns purpose into profit, strengthening foundations for sustainable growth.

  2. AI for Accessible Job Opportunities & Skills Development: Workforce Readiness. The job market is rapidly transforming, but this also creates new roles and demands new skills. By providing accessible AI education, we can equip individuals, especially in underserved communities, with the "future-proof careers" they need to thrive in this evolving landscape. My foundation projects the creation of 5,000-7,000 new jobs through dedicated initiatives to address this.

  3. AI for Tech Equity & Digital Inclusion: Access & Representation. There's a significant technology skills gap, particularly in Black and Brown communities. This gap directly contributes to economic inequality. AI must not just be for "tech bros." We must actively bridge this gap, ensuring that every person, regardless of background, can confidently leverage AI. Black/African American microbusiness owners are already

50% more likely than their white counterparts to have used generative AI to grow their businesses, according to a survey by Intuit QuickBooks  – this clearly demonstrates the existing hunger and potential. It's time to meet that hunger with accessible, values-aligned training.

  4. AI for Community & Economic Development: Collective Prosperity. When individuals and businesses within communities are empowered with AI, the impact ripples outward. This fosters collective economic growth and creates new opportunities within entire communities. PwC estimates AI could contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, and underserved communities must be part of this growth. It ultimately strengthens the economic fabric of communities and brings tangible transformation.

  5. Ethical AI & Responsible Innovation: Values-Driven Tech. This is foundational to Faith Fueled Tech. AI must be used in a way that is fair, transparent, accountable, and respects human values and rights. It's about putting "God rails" on technology to ensure it genuinely serves social good and doesn't perpetuate biases or harm. As Dr. Jay of Mastercard so powerfully puts it, "AI unlocks more in all of us. I can't wait to see what WE do." This ensures that AI-driven progress is righteous and just, building trust and contributing to a society where technology truly uplifts humanity.

  6. AI for Holistic Empowerment & Resilience: Inner Strength. Beyond business metrics, AI can support personal growth and resilience. My own journey through professional heartbreak, anxiety, and the battle with "unseen strongholds" like imposter syndrome and unworthiness taught me that inner healing is paramount. By simplifying complexity and aiding decision-making, AI frees mental space, allowing individuals to navigate challenges with greater clarity and inner strength. It helps entrepreneurs overcome internal barriers, leading to more sustainable and joyful entrepreneurial journeys.

A Divine Mandate: The Great Commission in the Digital Age

For our faith leaders, Faith Fueled Tech drastically increases the spread of the Good News to the masses. By leveraging digital tools and AI, fulfilling the Great Commission becomes smarter, not harder. Technology provides unprecedented reach, enabling ministries to connect, teach, and spread hope across digital divides, aligning divine purpose with modern capabilities.

Building a God-Inspired Digital Blueprint

My journey as an "accidental techie" who self-taught my way through the digital landscape has fueled my calling to serve as the crucial bridge between complex developer language and the practical needs of the end-user. There is no reason someone else has to walk that journey alone.

This is more than a think piece; it's an invitation to a movement. It's a call to action for Christian leaders, community organizations, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to embrace AI not as a distant concept, but as a tangible tool for social justice. By intentionally integrating faith and tech, we can empower a generation to PRESS On —being Persistent, Radiant, Enthusiastic, Sparkling, and Strong—in their entrepreneurial walk, creating a legacy of impact that truly closes the economic wealth gap, one purpose-driven business and one empowered community at a time.
